Please Help Me Understand ~!

Ok, I'm assuming that most people that download digital graphics create digital scrapbook pages. I know that since digital cameras came around I take pictures of everything. Well, ok, mostly birds and flowers but ... lol.

Regardless if I am creating a scrapbook page I always do it in 12x12 inch format. AND ... I want to SEE the picture on the page. I've gone through so many digital scrapbook page gallerys and it always surprises me how people put tiny pictures on such big pages ... not only that but they usually only put ONE picture on a 12x12 layout and the picture only takes up 1/10 of the page. You know, you've seen them (or maybe even created them) - A 12x12 layout with a little picture in one corner usually surrounded by a fancy swirl or something and not much else on the rest of the page. I admit that many of them look really pretty BUT isn't digital scrapbooking about replacing photo albums?. Don't get me wrong, I love the embellishments but I want the picture (or pictures) to be the main focus. If I only ever put one picture to a page some of my scrapbooks would have to be litterly hundreds of pages. lol I have put one picture on a page ... but guaranteed its large. The reason I chose the 12x12 inch format in the first place was because of the amount of room for either larger pictures or more pictures per page. I know - to each their own but I can't seem to get a grasp on those type of layouts. I'd really love to know how other people feel about this.

Ok, so speaking of 'multiple' pictures on a page ... lol. Again, I'm not really into quickpages but sometimes I create something for myself and think - Wow, if I used quickpages I would really like this one ... lol. So today I put these quickpages into LLL Creations Dollar Mart.

The lights and glow are part of each quickpage to kind of highlight the biggest picture. I made these for a photo shoot (hense the name) but they would be great for kids and many other things~! (Click on any picture to see a little larger)

You get both quickpages for only $1.00~! You can get them here or just go through LLL Creations Dollar Mart under the Quickpages category.

The other thing I put into the store was this:

My other metal leaves have been very popular and I know I find them very useful for so many layouts.

Note - Those bugs were in my backyard. I don't know what they are and I don't really care. But it's really interesting looking at them close up with my macro ... lol.

The Metal Leaves #3 are only $1.00. (Hey, it's a dollar store~! lol) You can get them here or just go through LLL Creations Dollar Mart under the Elements category.

And you have only 2 days left for my promotion.

So come on over to LLL Creations Dollar Mart.

And for todays freebie ...

Thank you so much for the great travel charms :) As far as the tiny pictures on scrap pages, I have no clue. I thought maybe other people knew something I didn't. LOL Like you, I want my pictures to be seen, not just the background and elements.

I agree the small pictures with a ton of white space look neat, but they are not for me when scrapping memories of the family. I want to preserve photos that can be seen without a magnifying glass LOL

The smaller ones with the white space are nice to use for special occasions such as challenges or on a greeting card or something but when it comes to preserving memories the focus needs to be on the photos with lots of journalling.

Thanks so much for the great freebies and I just love reading your blog... I love how you appreciate all mother nature's visitors (& your furbabies!).

Personally, I completely agree on the miniature pic thing ...they are a once-in-a-while kind of layout. It should be about bringing out the best in the photograph, not distracting from it or making it hard to see. But on saying that, each to their own. Thanks again x

I totally agree, I thought I was just out of the whole loop in digitally scrapbooking. Some of the layouts I've seen posted on sites don't even have real pictures?
