But today it's beautiful and sunny and everything is already starting to melt. So hopefully that was the final 'hurrah'!

Good news and Bad news ...

First the bad news ...

It's STILL snowing~!!! lol Yep, we have managed to accumulate quite a bit and it's still coming down. But I refuse to talk about it, hense I do any more damage ... LOL.

Onto good news ...

The Winter Olympics have been so exciting to watch this year. I've always loved watching the winter olympics. It's funny because I'm not a winter person. I don't do any winter sports but yet I love to watch them. I guess it's because I get to be all warm and cozy on my couch ... lol. Well, I am so proud to be Canadian. It's been great watching Canadians win more Olympic medals then ever before. Go Canada~! Actually there are so many records being broken all around the world. I don't just cheer for Canada ... I cheer for any outstanding athlete that deserves to win a medal. Go World~! lol

And more good news ... the Ontario Colleges are NOT going on strike! Yay, the news just came out and we are relieved. My husband is a Professor and it was such a close vote a few weeks ago that they wouldn't make anything official until the mail in votes arrived. We are mostly happy for the students who won't have their school years messed up.

Ok, something really has surprised me. I can't believe there is no one out there with a scrapbooking blog who doesn't want more traffic. Oops, I did it again!

Ok, from now on, I'm keeping my mouth shut ... lol. I swear I can jinx just about anything. I talked on my last post only a few days ago about how little snow we have. Then yesterday ...



Wham! We got hit, as I think most of Ontario did. Well, I refuse to take responsibility ... lol. I know it's only February and I shouldn't of had my hopes up high, but I swear I smelled spring in the air just the other day~!!!

On another topic ...
When I first starting looking at scrapbooking blogs a few years ago, I started bookmarking the ones I would go back to. I litterly had probably 100 bookmarked! I have found since I started this blog and have my store, I don't have alot of time to blog hop. But the other day I decided I should take some time and look at other's peoples blogs. So I started going through my bookmarks and was SHOCKED!. More then 30% of the ones I had bookmarked are totally gone, another 40% are there but haven't been updated for over a year. That really shocked me. Though in a way I can totally understand. It's alot of work! For the people who don't blog or design you are probably just like I was with your 100 bookmarks ... lol. It made me realize that for some people thats all we are ... just a bookmark. Kinda depressing ...lol.

But if you do have a scrapbooking blog, you might be interested in joining the new Digital Scrapbook Blog Webring (See it at the top of this blog). It's new so there are not alot of people involved yet, but the more who join, the more successful it will be to bringing traffic to your blog. (Which as we all know, is not an easy thing to do!). Is It Possible?

Hmm ... I hate to jinx anything but is it possible that we have beat another winter? This winter has been not too bad as far as snow goes here. Actually today it's sunny and above freezing and everything is melting. Oh, I know we will get more snow but if its anything like the snow we have already had then it's nothing. We didn't use our snow blower once this year~!

Last winter was sooooooooo much worse. This is last February.



We had snow like that all winter last year and even got hit in April with a fluke snowfall. It was cold this year but that's expected. But to not have to use the snowblower all winter is totally amazing for this area!

The cats are getting anxious too. They see the sun shining and just want out in their cage. I was in one of our closets the other day and ran across this cat tent that I totally forgot about and brought it out. Cats are like kids, bring out an old toy and it's all fun again ... lol.





Yeah, my cats are spoiled. Tents, bunkbeds, a 2 storey carpeted house, scratch pads and toys. toys, toys. And just like kids they are the happiest when you give them a old cardboard box! lol

Family Time

Most of Canada celebrated Family Day on Monday. It's a fairly new holiday that only started in 2008 and it falls on the 3rd Monday of February. That worked out great this year because it fell on my birthday and my husband had the day off ... lol.

I am still in awe from the party thrown for me last Saturday. I think most surprise parties end up not being a real surprise. But this really was a shocker for me. I can't believe my husband or daughter didn't 'give it away'. And it was great because usually the only time my whole family gets together is at Christmas. So I got to have a birthday party and a Family Day all in one~!!!

Today I've Hit A Milestone~!!!

What milestone you ask? A big one, at least to me ... lol. Milestone birthdays are relative. To a 20 year old, 25 is a milestone. To a 90 year old, 100 is a milestone. It's all relative. Mine hit today ... the BIG 50~! Wow! I can't believe it!

I am so fortunate to have such great family and friends. My daughter planned a surprise party for me on Saturday and I really, truly was surprised. We had made plans that my husband and I would go to her city and stay there the evening on Saturday and we would go out to dinner. Nothing seemed 'suspicious' to me at all! When we showed up at the restaurant not only was my whole family there but she had invited old friends of mine from 30 something years ago~!!! I was stunned. It was fabulous to see these people. Some of us have kept in contact via facebook for the past couple years but it has been years and years since I've seen them. Actually one guy and his wife I haven't seen for almost 30 years~!! We all had a great time and I think we were all in a huge time warp~!! lol
