Proud Canadian ~

Canada Day is coming up this Wednesday and I am one proud Canadian. My mother was born in Ireland and I am so thankful her parents made the choice a long time ago to immigrate to Canada. Not that I don't think that Ireland is a beautiful country and probably a wonderful place to live also. I've always been proud of my Irish heritage. But I think they made the right choice for the times and I am thankful because I was fortunate enough to born Canadian. I'm 49 years old and I'm still finding new reasons to be greatful for living in this beautiful country. Canada will officially be 142 years old.

Happy Birthday Canada~!!!

Many times when I am creating something I start out with one idea and it turns into something totally different ... lol. (I think that is normal when designing??) Well, this is what I ended up with after starting out with a whole different idea.

I really struggled with the previews. These hangers are too detailed to ever show properly in these small pics but trust me, they are nice ... lol.

There are two different sets that went into LLL Creations Dollar Mart today;

First - Birth Month Hangers ~

You get all twelve months of the year. Each month shows the birthstone and flower for the month. Here's a layout to show you the size against a 12x12 inch paper.

(Paper shown in layout is part of a set and can be found here.)

And for those of your who would like to use them for babies ...
Baby Month Hangers;

Do you know there is NO babies anywhere in my family or my extended family. I haven't held a baby in years. I actually had to use a picture of a baby I 'borrowed' from an online store that sells baby clothes to do this layout. They didn't have a contact email to ask for permission, only a order form but I couldn't see any copyright info for the pictures and this is the only thing I will use it for.
BUT that's going to all change soon because my nephew is having his first child in September ~~

(Paper and overlay are part of a set that can be found here.)

Anyways, they really look so much nicer when you see them full size. Again, you get all twelve months of the year with birth stone and flower. Each set is only $2.00!
You can get them here or through my store under the Elements category.

AND there is only 2 DAYS LEFT for my promotion.

And to celebrate my strong Canadian Pride I have this Canada Word Art for you;

Download Canada Word Art

And you don't have to be Canadian to download this. If you've ever been to this wonderful country ~ Sue ... lol ~ or plan to in the future, you can use them to scap your memories.

Wow, yesterday was such a sad day ~ First hearing about Farrah Fawcetts death. What a courageous woman! Her stuggle with cancer was told in a tv show called 'Farrah's Story' just over a month ago. Unfortunatley I missed it but everyone said it was such a sad story. And then later in the day hearing of Micheal Jacksons death! Another sad story. Micheal Jackson is only about 1 and a 1/2 years older than me and when I was about 8 every single little girl had a crush on him. He was such an amazing artist and I hope both Farrah and Micheal rest in peace.

Another gorgeous day out. Decisions, decisions ... I would LOVE to go for a nice long walk down one of the trails we have around here BUT we have a severe thunderstorm watch and I'm afraid of getting stuck in the middle of nowhere. To look outside now you would never think it's going to storm but it's very humid and things can change so quickly. I'm going to keep checking the weather and if it changes I'll still go.

Today I put these Scalloped Papers in LLL Creations Dollar Mart;

You get 7 very pretty scalloped papers for only $1.00. You can get them here or just go through my store under the Papers category.

(Word Art shown in layout is part of a set and can be seen here)

And you still have lots of time to get in on my promotion;

Today I have a Summer Cluster Word Art for you;

Have a great weekend~!

P.S. - I almost forgot~! Pat gave me this award ~ thanks Pat~!!!

I know I'm supposed to nominate 7 more people but I totally forgot about it, sorry. I will~!

Sun, Sun, and more Sun ~

A whopping 30 degrees celcius out today and very sunny. I know alot of people hate it that hot but I don't~! lol

Well, my husband finished the walkway to the gazebo and he did a great job! This picture is just after he was done and I had hosed it off. It looks great wet

And here's a picture I took from upstairs, you can see the little garden we put in.

After seeing those turtles in our backyard I couldn't resist the little turtle stepping stone for the garden!

This is the first time I've ever tried red mulch. I put it in all my gardens this year and I was surprised at how far it went. We only bought a half yard and it went through all these gardens plus a few more ...

(By the way - the pictures of my garden in the previous post were from last summer - most of those flowers have not flowered yet this year)

And it seems my husband is on a roll. Right now he's outside making a little bench to put outside the gazebo! He had some cedar left so I think he just want's to clear out 'his' garage ... lol.

This is what I put into LLL Creations Dollar Mart today;

These Page Toppers span the width of a 12x12 inch layout and the lettering is transparent. So you can change the look of them by the paper you put underneath.

Each set is only $1.50 and you can get them here or through my store under the Word Art category. And you can see other's like this here.

And my promotion is still on;

Get a closer look at the overlays in the previous post.
And take advantage of the free Summer Border Overlays until the 30th~

Friday, June 19, 2009

Ahhh ... glorious sun ...

Another beautiful day so we are going to work outside again. I think we are going to put a little garden beside the gazebo ... actually that was the original plan so we might as well do it and then enjoy it this summer. Plus we put a little walkway up to the gazebo and now my husband has this idea of digging a little trench on each side and between each flagstone and filling it with pebbles. He calls me a slave driver but he's the one that comes up with all these ideas that cause him work ... lol.

Do you believe in destiny? Or believe things that happen, happen for a reason? Well, I always have and yesterday something happened that made me say "It was meant to be". We woke up yesterday morning and noticed that one of our solar lights out back in our garden had fallen over in the night and hit the new flagstone walkway (lol) and the glass smashed all over the place. Here's a pic I had of that light.

I always liked that light because it changes from red, green, blue to yellow etc. So I go outside to clean up the glass and notice that the solar part is in perfect condition.

I threw out the glass and put the solar part on the table outside. Then, I got thinking ... (my husband says I think too much ... lol). I first had an idea with a fancy jar but while I was looking for it I came across this hurricane lanturn (that usually holds a candle) in the back of our cupboard that we never use.

And wouldn't you know it, the solar thing fit in it like a glove~!

And sure enough as soon as it started to get dark it lit up. It is absolutely gorgeous. The glass on the hurricane light is crackled and tall so the colours are just amazing as they change from one to another. We were mesmerized by it, it seemed sooo much nicer then in the original state It going to be perfect in the gazebo on the table.

Soo .. it was meant to be. :-)
I'll see if I can get pictures of it lit tonight.

Today I put this frame in LLL Creations Dollar Mart.

Because I think Nature Rocks!!!

And the layout below shows you the size against a 12X12 inch layout.

Only $1.00 and you can get it here or through LLL Creations Dollar Mart under the Frames category.

Ta Da~!

It's Done! The guys finished the gazebo yesterday and I LOVE it.

This picture from the side shows what a hill it is on.

If it wasn't for the fact that it's supposed to start raining this afternoon we would probably be eating dinner out there tonight. Well, maybe if its just a nice light rain we still will! Now ... I HAVE to have a little flower garden beside it

Today a few new things went into LLL Creations Dollar Mart.

The are 5 diffent sets of chrome photo corners. Each set comes with 4 corners of course ... lol. They are only $1.00 and you can get them here or through LLL Creations Dollar Mart under the Elements category.

And a Double Hanging Chrome Frame;

And here's the size of the frame against a 12x12 inch layout.

The frame is also only $1.00 and you can get it here or through

Was That So Hard? and Thank YOU!

I would like to say I feel much better since the last post. I guess when us designers give away freebies we just want to feel ... real. When you see that you've had many downloads and no comments you get to the point you feel like your an invisible idiot and wasting your time. I really enjoy reading comments and having at least some communication with the people that come here to my blog. We take the time to create, upload and write the blogs and don't ask for alot in return so I hope people can understand that we all get frusterated. So thank you for taking the time, it's MUCH appreciated!

Anyways, I've been asked a few times what kind of camera I have. It's a Canon S5 1S and it's a little over a year old. It's an 8 mega pixel with 12X optical zoom and I love it!. It has auto and manual focus and alot of great picture effects and options. Of course it's outdated already (LOL) and they have a newer model which I'm sure is even better. I've always owned Canon cameras and I've always been happy with them. I tend to stick to a brand I've been happy with no matter what it is.

Ok, so everything ALWAYS takes longer then you think it is going to. The guys started working on the gazebo roof on Friday and took a break for the weekend and are back at it this morning. The plan is for it to be complete today. But on the weekend my husband made some really nice lattice to go around the bottom because of the slope of the land. This pic is from the weekend.

AND, guess who came to visit again this morning when the guys first started working outside.

This definately is not the same one as last time. It was a little bit smaller (but it was still pretty darn big!) and you could tell it was not as old. (Less wrinkles around the neck ... lol) It's like living in a zoo here! I love it!!!

Today I put these 2 frames in LLL Creations Dollar Mart;
(Click on picture for larger view)

And here's the size against a 12x12 inch layout;

As usual, each frame is only $1.00 and you can get them here or through
LLL Creations Dollar Mart under the frame category.
