And Up it Goes ...

My husband and his friend started on the gazebo floor this week. The hardest part was the 9 holes that had to be 4 feet deep so the posts could be cemented in. My husband actually rented a 2-man gas auger and thought he could do it with the help of someone. What was he thinking~??? lol

This area has tons of rock and he started the first hole and hit rock ... couldn't get the auger down, couldn't get the auger up. When he got the auger started again it actually flung him about 4 feet and he did a backwards somersault and hurt his shoulder. That was it! Next day he hired someone to come with a bobcat and auger attached. The guy did a great job. Live and learn.

But a few days after that they started the floor and did an amazing job!! This picture is only short the very middle piece which he hasn't cut yet. But wow, it looks good.

They plan on starting the actual gazebo early next week. My only problem is because we wanted it at the side of our lot which is sloped - there is this optical illusion that it is really crooked. But we've had the level on it in every direction and its perfectly straight. I'm hoping the 'illusion' goes away once the gazebo goes up! I'm not into the 'Leaning Tower of Piza' look ...lol.

Today I put a new Alpha in LLL Creations Dollar Mart

Click on picture for a little closer view.

You can do alot of different variations with this alpha as shown above. And the layout I have of the gazebo floor shows the size of the alpha againest a 12x12 inch layout. You get the upper case alpha, lower case alpha and some symbols and it's only $2.00! Get it here or go through LLL Creations Dollar Mart and it's under the Alpha category.

Ducks & Geese

Every day we have ducks and geese fly to and from the pond in the conservation area in the back. Sometimes they fly right over our house. I've been trying to get a picture of them flying and it's a hard thing to do~!!! First off you have to have the camera handy and secondly they fly so darn fast. Well, I did finally get a picture of a goose flying overhead.

My next goal - a mallard duck. I know I can just walk over to the pond and take pictures of them ... LOL, but I really want one with them flying.

One of the things I really dislike about this digital creating is that there is no way of doing a half decent preview when you are downsizing everything so much. The previewed items are usually downsized to somewhere around 15% of the original and you lose all of the detail that you have put into it. Today I put some papers in LLL Creations Dollar Mart that I really like. The previews do nothing for them.

Even this closer view does not give you all the detail but this is an example of one of the papers.

Each set only $1.00 and you can get them here or through my store under the Papers category.

And you still have a few days to take advantage of my promotion.

Babies on the way ...

Don't be surprised to see some baby tree swallow pictures soon. The mom and dad have been taking turns in the bird house and I'm sure they are tending to the eggs. One goes in, one comes out. They are such good parents~!

We went through this last year and were lucky enough to wake up one morning with a baby tree swallow sitting on our deck railing. He was so adorable. It was a windy morning too and he was hanging on for dear life~! We counted at least 6 babies coming out from the house - each at their own pace. The 2nd last one took forever. He wanted to fly out but he just had his head through the hole and looked around and was obviously nervous. I'm sure the baby behind him wanted to give him a shove! lol
I posted pics last June - see the archive here.

Not only that but another baby is on the way. I'm going to be a great-aunt in September ~!

Today some new word art went into LLL Creations Dollar Mart.

Here's the size of one of them against a 12X12 inch layout.

Each set as usual is only $1.00 and you can get them here or through my store under the Word Art category.

And on top of that my promotion is still on until the 27th~!

Early Bird

I've been getting up early every morning for weeks. Anywhere between 6 - 6:30 am. It's just so nice to get up as the sun is rising and sit outside with a coffee and listen to nature. I can totally understand the expression 'The early bird gets the worm'. The birds start their day long before the sun comes up. The other good thing about getting up early is the day seems alot longer. The only problem is I'm ready for bed alot earlier ... lol.

The other 'birds' I want to talk about is the Toronto Blue Jays baseball team~! Wow - that's all I can say. They are having an amazing year and are HOT!!!
GO JAYS GO~!!!

Today these frames went into LLL Creations Dollar Mart.

And here is a few examples to show you the size of the frames against a 12X12 inch layout.

Each frame is only $1.00 and you can get them here or through my Dollar Mart under the Frames category.

And don't forget the great promotion I have going on until the 27th~!

Going Green

Wow, this rain sure has made things grow. This field behind our house didn't have a speck of green a few weeks back.

The great thing about this field is -
#1 - There will never be any houses built behind us. It's a protected conservation area.
#2 - Behind the tree line at the back are a few really nice big ponds where ducks and geese have nests and hang out.
#3 - Our view is spectacular~! We have a sloped lot which gives us a 'walk out' out of our downstairs. Since our kitchen is in the back it also gives us an upper deck off the kitchen which has such a great view.
#4 - Throughout the summer the field changes from yellow flowers to white flowers on to purple flowers etc.
#5 - We just 'pretend' it's our property (see the bird houses we put back by the rock ... lol)

We don't have a huge back yard but it feels like we do. This summer we are putting a gazebo at the very back of our property line so we can sit and enjoy our view even more. The conservation area is why we have so many birds around all the time and it is also the main reason we chose this lot to build on. It's the closest you'll get to country living in the city.

Today I put this frame in LLL Creations Dollar Mart.

And here's the size against a 12x12 inch (3600x3600 pixel) layout.

Only $1.00. You can get it here or through my store under the Frames category.

And todays freebie is the 3 frames I used in todays pictures.
