Nice Weekend ...

This weekend I had a nice visit with my daughter and her family and I was FINALLY able to give them the Wedding scrapbooks I made for them. They both really loved them and like I said a few posts ago I was thrilled with the outcome.

I did 2 -100 page books, I did the same cover for both with the same frame but used different pictures.



Even the spine came out nice and centered etc.

Another reason my books were such a great success is because of the
My Memories Suite program I use. It shows you with a shaded area what will get cut off during printing so it's so easy to make sure everything is in exactly the right place. It also has a 'grid' you can use to line things up and for spacing things correctly. I LOVE that program. (It has so many great features I can't name them all). So between My Memories Suite to make the books and Artscow to print them I am enjoying scrapbooking much more these days!

My next project is going to be a book for my grandson. He is 9 months now and I think I will do one big one for his first year. It's so fun to watch him crawling and walking with a little assistance. He can even take 4 or 5 steps even on his own now! I even got in a night of babysitting this weekend when his parents went to a wedding!

One of the things I will be using for sure in my grandsons book will be dates. It's so important to make sure you date your books. I plan on using my 2011 date stamps (I've given them a few times away on my blog). You can see I used one in the layout above. (It's reduced to 50% - they are quite large). From One Holiday To The Next ...

Ok, now that Halloween is over people start thinking about Christmas. The reason I'm thinking about Christmas is:

#1 - We have to put the Christmas lights outside (especially on top of the gazebo) BEFORE it snows ... lol. So we are going to do that this weekend.

#2 - This will be my grandsons 1st Christmas! So exciting.

And something exciting happened today. I received my daughters wedding scrapbooks in the mail!!! (Awesome, they came from Hong Kong through Artscow and I only ordered them on Oct 23rd!) So how was your halloween? We had quite a few ghosts and goblins last night, much more then we did last year. We actually ran out of candy and chips because we weren't expecting that many. Luckily it wasn't raining (or snowing) here like it usually is. My grandson dressed up (he's only 9 months old) just to go see friends and family. What a cute little monster!



He is not walking on his own yet. (He actually walks FAST if you hold on to his fingers!) But he has mastered crawling and standing up against something. He can even stand up without holding on for a bit. It's so amazing how fast these past 9 months have gone by and how much they learn in such a short time. He also has 8 teeth already and a joy to be around. Being a grandparent rocks! LOL
