Teaching An Old Cat New Tricks ...

We always get up and have coffee on the deck off of the kitchen, which is on the second level at the back of the house. At the beginning of the summer we started letting Nemo (the 5 year old, indoor rambunctious cat) out with us but it was always too nerve-wracking. He would stick his head through the railings and jump on top of the railing etc. etc. Well, we think the training has finally paid off. After months of telling him 'no' when he stuck his body too far through the railings and after months of putting him back inside when he jumped on top of the railing, he finally has discovered that he actually gets to stay out if he is good. LOL



We were never concerned about Mischief (the 15 year old cat). He would never jump down from that height and is quite content just laying in the sun.





They both find it fascinating looking in from the outside for a change ...LOL.





So this is a huge milestone, we actually get to sit in peace and have our coffee~!



The windowsill is warm because of the sun and Nemo loves to put his face up against it. The picture above melts my heart ... lol. So now we leave the screen door open a little bit so they can come and go as they please while we are out there. And we have two happy cats~!
